‘Sakin Hayat Evleri’ which translates as Calm Life Chalets is a wonderful place to soothe your soul. The chalets are situated in Ecebeli around 3km on the outskirts of Yesil Uzuml village and approximately thirty minutes drive from the bustling market town of Fethiye and twenty five minutes drive from the popular beach resort of Calis and Supermarkets. The location is truly idyllic. A little haven surrounded by pine forests where you can escape the hustle and bustle of a busy life and truly experience the healing powers of nature.
Close by is the ancient Lycian site of Cadianda easily accessible by a designated walking path from the village (approximately 3 km) or by car where the drive up offers some spectacular views of the valley. The site is well preserved and definitely worth a visit. For keen walkers and cyclists the neighbouring villages of Incirkoy, Kizibel and Nif are no less interesting and can be explored at leisure.
There are a total of three buildings. In two building there are 8 two bedroom chalets . In the third building there is a small restaurant serving a delicious healthy village style breakfast and set menu in the evenings.
The natural bathing pool is one of the first of its kind in the area and has a separate regeneration zone with small waterfall feature. Specific plants and lava rocks have been chosen to filter and oxygenate the water keeping it clean and providing a much healthier and more enjoyable alternative to chlorinated swimming pools. There is also an organic vegetable garden with a variety of fruit trees as well as grapes, blackberries and strawberries which guests are free to enjoy during their stay.
The chalets were built in 2015 by the owner Birol Ganioglu who is originally from Ankara and has lived in the area the last 36 years. Birol is passionate about ancient history and Lycian history in particular and because of this was inspired to write the ‘Soothsayer of Telmessos’ trilogy of novels which are historical and mythological novels set in the Lycian civilization in the first century B.C. Originally published in Turkish ‘Mother Syessa’ (the first book) as well as Apollonides (the second book in the series) are both available to read in English. The third book – Nicholas - which is a tale of the Anatolian origins of Saint Nicholas better known as Father Christmas will be available to read in English soon.
The idea behind Sakin Hayat is one of well-being, a place of rest and relaxation. A chance to enjoy life at a slower pace and remind ourselves of the unique healing power of nature and the stillness it creates within us when we choose to live in harmony.
Our wish is to create a warm, inviting and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone during their stay.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU!
