Calis beach famed for its amazing sunsets summer and winter and cooling breeze is approximately 5km from Fethiye and easily accessible by public transport or by water taxi from Fethiye. A promenade lined with restaurants and bars runs parallel to the shingle beach which offers beautiful views of the gulf. Calis is ideal for water sports and many of the activities on offer revolve around water such as windsurfing and kite boarding lessons . There are a number of small souvenir type shops as well as rustic beach front restaurants at one end of the promenade which offer village breakfasts and local food at good prices and the place to head if you're looking for peace and quiet. At the other end of the promenade there is protected nature reserve, a perfect place to soak up the beautiful views and a good pace to bird watch.
Belcekiz beach and the blue lagoon in Oludeniz around 15km from Fethiye is considered to be one of the most beautiful and one of the most photographed beaches in the world. No visit to this area is complete without at least one visit. Backed by dramatic pine-clad hills the scenery is stunning and takes your breath away. The turquoise waters are crystal clear and the calm waters of the blue lagoon perfect for swimming or canoeing. The resort itself has a wide choice of restaurants offering international cuisine and plenty of laid-back bars. Paragliding is a big draw for novices and professionals alike with the descent from Babadag mountain rated one of the best in the world.
Kidrak beach around 3km further along from Olu Deniz is often secluded with a wide sandy beach and a great place to relax amongst the pine trees. Here you will find BBQ facilities for picnic lovers, a small
snack bar, toilets and shower facilities. It is worth noting there's no shade on the beach and no sun-loungers or umbrellas to rent so if you're planning to spend a few hours or the day there you will need to take your own. As with the blue lagoon there is a small entrance charge payable.
Kabak beach also known as Paradise Beach is further along from Kidrak and a beautiful winding coastal road will take you there. The beach is sandy and the area known for its water sports, archaeological finds and pristine flora and fauna. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing place then a visit to Kabak beach is highly recommended.
